The Stuttgart Open is one of the oldest tennis tournaments in Germany, first being played in 1916. Until 2015, the tournament was played on clay courts, but it switched to grass courts as the players were preparing for Wimbledon. BOSS sponsors the current edition, and the event is also known as the BOSS Open. Besides the prize in money, the winner also takes home a brand new Mercedes car. The 2002 edition's top seed is Stefanos Tsitsipas, who was upset at Roland Garros by the young Holger Rune. It remains to be seen if the Greek has overcome the French Open match and is ready for the grass season (and Wimbledon). Tsitsipas remains the favorite for the title, followed by Berrettini and Shapovalov (both players being very good on fast surfaces).
