Roland Garros Open, also known as the French Open, is the only Grand Slam tournament played on clay. The tournament was founded in 1891 and has been played on clay since 1908. It is played at the Roland Garros sports complex in Paris, where the central court (Court Philippe Chatrier) was recently renovated, with floodlights and a retractable roof.

In the men's competition all the top players will be present at the start, and the focus will be on those who have shown good form in the preparatory tournaments in Europe. Novak Djokovic (winner in Rome), Carlos Alcaraz (winner in Madrid) and Stefanos Tsitsipas (winner in Monte Carlo) are definitely the three big favorites for the title this year. Rafa Nadal, who has won the French Open 13 times (an absolute record), has not shown a very good form this season and it's unlikely to be one of the main contenders. If Alcaraz (19 years old) wants to break Rafa's record in Paris, it would be good to start early. The only player who can probably be among the three big favorites is Alexander Zverev, who reached the final stages in every tournament on clay. In our opinion, Carlos Alcaraz has all the chances to win his first Grand Slam tournament in Paris. An important absence from the tournament is that of Roger Federer, who stated that he is still recovering from knee surgery and will focus on the grass season. No one would expect great performances from the Swiss (40 years old), but the public would certainly have been excited to see him play.
